About Jeanne Peters, RD

Hello All and welcome! Since my youth, I have always been interested in the healing power of food and plants. I have been involved in the wellness industry for more than half of my life.  I am passionate about my work and find it incredibly rewarding to guide people towards a higher level of wellness. I co- founded Nourishing Wellness to help people discover the joy of an active, healthy lifestyle.

I received my B.S. Degree in Clinical Nutrition from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1979 and have been studying the interconnected issues of food, agriculture, the environment on the impact on healing for the past 25 years. I have extensively studied, written and spoken before my peers on issues related to community food security/sustainable food systems, coordinated school health, and food and nutrition policy. Throughout my career, I have been an advocate for promoting safe, sustainable food choices.

In the early 80’s, as co-owner of Cornucopia, I developed services such as home delivered gourmet meals and specialty catering for people on special diets. Over the years, I have provided a broad range of nutrition communication and consultation services for Pritikin Systems, Kathy Smith, the LA Kings, Bristol Farms Inc, Mattel Corp. Unocal, Chez Melange Inc. and Richard Simmons, where I initially helped launch his successful Deal- A-Meal program. I was named California Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year in 1990 and recently featured as a nutritionist for Discovery Channel’s Fit TV Ultimate Goals series.

As a working mother of three sons, I have learned to balance career, family, and my health by incorporating the principles I coach into my own life.  I face the struggles that life throws me each day, just like you.  It is not always easy to maintain balance, but maintaining my health is a part of my daily routine.   I can support your wellness vision and make your health a vital part of your daily life.
